Human beings live in a delicate symbiotic relationship
with flora and fauna – therefore, personal and planetary wellbeing
are closely related.
Modern civilisation is moving further and further away from this
harmonious symbiosis. Rather than seeing ourselves as part of nature,
living in a balanced relationship with it, we are exploiting and
destroying our environment, and thus cutting off our own lifeline.
Our intuitive connection with nature may have degenerated, but
it has not completely gone from our souls. My work expresses my
conviction that humankind’s survival depends on listening and
feeling our way back to this intrinsic connection. We need to
reconnect with the knowledge of indigenous people who treat
nature with respect and intuitive intelligence.
